G22 Room Installation G22 Room Installation was the thesis project for Eleanor's Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Western Australia in 1994.
Occupying a room (G22) in the Cullity Gallery in the School of Architecture and Fine Arts at UWA, the installation worked with the existing architectural components of the space. New white "walls" were inserted within the polished concrete gallery walls. A new, tilted "white cube" filled the centre of the room, turning the space around it into corridors. The original space had become compressed and claustrophobic.
The installation was designed using AutoCAD and 3d Studio to produce plans, sections, elevations, 3d renderings, and an animation. These "architectural" design tools were exhibited as part of the installation. |
